The City of Valencia in the Province of Bukidnon is situated in the center of Mindanao. It is regarded as the agri-tourism capital of the province of Bukidnon due to its hills and plains that are abundant in natural resources, the lively trade, and the great harvest from the many farms. Warm, beautiful, and always friendly describes Valencia City.
On a land area of roughly 100,000 hectares, it is home to up to 200,000 people living in about 40,000 houses. As a result, Valencia City is the local government entity in the province that serves the most people. Valencia City is a large plain that the powerful Pulangi River cuts through as it lies in the valley beneath the shadow of both the Mt. Kalatungan and Mt. Kitanglad mountain ranges in Bukidnon.
The Pulangi River, which was formerly only navigable by bamboo rafts commonly referred to as "Gakit," once served as Valencia's main commercial hub. The gakits were floated down the river to the pier in Valencia while they were loaded with produce from the northern regions of the province, including abaca and coffee. Salt, fabric, and other items were swapped for the commodities, such as apparel.
The Bukidnon cattle country used to have a large pasture area on the Valencia plains. The best-tasting, most renowned Valencia rice is now produced in the former pasture meadows known as the Valencia Plains. The Pulangi River, a potent source of water for the extensive irrigation infrastructure required for the plains, has blessed the production of this particular rice type.
